About Innovate to Motivate®

The Innovate to Motivate® (I2M) conference was designed for government relations professionals who know how to do their jobs, but who want to do them even better.

I2M was the first conference of its kind to incorporate a rigorous professional development curriculum into our conference. We were also the first conference of our kind to integrate a robust curriculum on the science of influence as it relates to the PAC, grassroots, and lobbying disciplines. And, we give back to the cities we visit. We are the first conference of our kind to conduct an organized community service project as a part of the I2M conference, and we are doing it again with the USO in 2011.

I2M is a community of individuals, not organizations, so we are not obligated to have certain member organizations represented on our agenda. It gives us the freedom to pick the best speakers who have a track record of results.

The specific I2M curriculum topics and some speakers are recommended by our Advisory Committee members.

Call for Presentations

While we have many of those workstorm leader slots filled, we have the opportunity to extend workstorm leader opportunities on a few topics, primarily PAC topics.

If you are a political involvement professional with a track record of success in the following topics, we want to hear from you:

Managing Conflict Among PAC Board Members
PAC Disbursement and Goal Setting Strategy
Overcoming Internal Resistance to Grassroots and PAC Engagement
Social Media: Developing Online Trust

If your proposal is selected, you will have the opportunity to share your insights with a diverse group of experienced political involvement professionals, have free access to all conference workstorms and events, receive a complimentary conference registration and of course have the opportunity to meet and interact with other experienced PAC, grassroots, and lobbying professionals from across the country.

Call for Presentation Guidelines

·      Deadline for submissions is Friday, October 8, 2010
·      All proposals must be submitted online
·      All proposals must be complete
·      Two submissions can be submitted per person; no more than one submission per person will be accepted

About the I2M Audience and Workstorm Format

·      I2M audiences are veteran political involvement professionals (grassroots, PAC, lobbying). In 2010, 52% of our 2010 conference participants were Director-level professionals and 10% were Vice Presidents.

·      Each workstorm is 75 minutes long, with typically two presenters per workshop. (We call our sessions “workstorms” because we strive to create a workshop and brainstorming experience.) Workstorms combine 30 minutes of content per presenter and at least 15 minutes of Q & A/open discussion.

·      The 2011 conference will have over 20 grassroots, PAC, professional development, and science of influence workshops.

·      Conference presentations are pro bono, however, there are opportunities to increase your exposure and connections among the I2M community.

·      Consideration will be given to those who have not presented at Innovate to Motivate in the previous three years and to grassroots, PAC and lobbying practitioners.

·      You must submit at least two references that can attest to your presentation skills and/or track record of achievement in the topic area above.

·      The 2010 & 2011 Innovate to Motivate Co-Chairs and I2M Co-Founder, Amy Showalter, will review all submissions and select the presenters.
